Take Back the Night 2008
Thursday September 18, 2008, 7 pm: Take Back The Night: Join millions of women across the continent for one night every year to walk with our sisters. We will walk without male escorts to symbolize the power of women. By working together, we can turn individual fears into collective strength.

We walk to call attention to the sexual, physical, emotional and verbal abuse that occurs against women everywhere, and to recognize the many women and children in our community who live, or have lived, with violence in their lives.

We will meet at Confederation Basin (across from City Hall on Ontario Street) for a motivational rally. Then we will march up Queen Street and down Princess Street. All women and children are welcome. Men are encouraged to support from the sidelines. This is a trans-friendly event. Bring your noisemakers and instruments, and get ready to put the spotlight on woman power!
